TSA (Technology Student Association)

TSA prepares its members to be successful leaders in a technological society through co-curricular activities like communication, leadership, teamwork, and competitive skill development. Students are exposed to leadership learning and opportunities through officer participation, committee participation, and leadership activities that are incorporated into the classroom and/or chapter meetings. Students have an opportunity to participate in competitive events which include website design, dragster design, engineering, biotechnology and more!

Robotics

Sponsors: Ms. C. Miller and Ms. C. Dowdy
FIRST LEGO League is a robotics program for 9 to 16 year olds, which is designed to get children excited about science and technology -- and teach them valuable employment and life skills. In FLL, the children do the work! And the work is programming an autonomous robot (using the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robot set) to score points on a thematic playing surface and creating an innovative solution to a problem.

Newspaper Club

The Lion Chronicles is a student-led publication that details school events, sports, interviews, student poetry, photography, and much more. These students develop skills in writing, journalism, speaking, editing, and more as they work to churn out our school newspaper.

Library Helpers

Library Helpers assist Ms. Dowdy in the media center to check out books, shelve books, help students locate books, keep the library clean, and more.  

Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl

The Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl is a reading competition held annually in January for the Georgia Book Award Nominees.
